KIDS-DIY Huge Wall Magnet Board

I was so excited when I saw this idea on Pinterest! What kid doesn't love magnets? I thought a magnet learning/play board would be great in my daughters room, especially for an affordable price (cost under $15 to buy pan and hang).

I went to Walmart and picked up the huge drip pan in the auto section.

I got Command velcro strips, and we were set. At first I was trying to figure out how to cover the raised brand seal, and remembered I had my daughters name in foam letters.

I tried covering the brand with the letters but didn't like how it looked.

I decided to put her name at the top and not worry about it. It is kind of cute that it says drip pan.

I looked for large letter magnets, but Walmart didn't carry them. I might order some online. I don't want the baby to have access to the smaller magnets.

UPDATE: It lasted for a few days but then fell off the wall. I think I needed more command strips, and probably isn't best to put it on wallpaper! We're renting and can't take it down. Her letters also fell off, but she still uses it as it leans up against the wall. I got Melissa and Doug wooden letter magnets and they are fun. They aren't as easy to keep track of as I was hoping! I should have known they would disappear with a 1 year old and 3 year old around!

  1. That will be excellent for teaching the alphabet, numbers, and words! :)

  2. This will be great for preschool projects!
