Home Remedy - Sore Throat

If you wake up with a sore throat, and begin to feel a cold coming on, mix hot water, 2-tablespoons honey, 2-tablespoon vinegar, dash of cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, mix well, and drink, you will feel better within the hour!

I felt a tickle in my throat the other night, and it was hard to sleep.  After a day full of discomfort,  I remembered my "home remedies" board on Pinterest!  

I drank a cup of this "tea" mixture. I used apple cider vinegar and the lemon juice from the little plastic lemon. 

I thought it was going to be the worst taste in the world, but I was pleasantly surprised! Every sip burned going down, which as my mom used to reassure me means that it's "working". I thought it would taste horrible because I can't even stand the smell of vinegar, but it was not bad until the last couple of drinks. The vinegar must have settled to the bottom. 

I do feel like it started working right away. 

In the morning my husband let me sleep in and I felt a lot better! The true test will come tonight when I go to sleep. I think I will drink it one more time before bed just to be safe! 

I need to invest in some local, raw honey, and real lemons for next time.

UPDATE:
I drank this 3 times and I feel like it kept my cold at bay. I stopped because I'm breastfeeding my son and it seemed to upset his stomach a little. I still had a little tickle in my throat that flared up when I read Dr Seuss to the kids before bed and when I didn't get enough sleep. I think I will use this remedy again in the future!
