Romance-Countdown for Husband (or Wife)

You Got To Try This! - His Christmas Countdown

I thought this was a really neat idea. It could be used as a countdown before any event. The new year, birthday, anniversary, Father's/Mother's Day...

I liked that the blogger thought about how to bless her husband after realizing how much time and energy she put into making Christmas great for the kids (elf on the shelf...etc).

I wanted to do something special for my husband because he is really hard to buy gifts for. One of his primary love languages is words of affirmation, so I tried to incorporate that into the messages in these cards. I might try to do a longer one next time instead of just 1 week.

Here is an example of one of the cards I wrote for him. Inside, I wrote a little message thanking him for the amazing back rub he gave me a few nights earlier. I included a "coupon" for a 20 minute back rub for him to redeem at any time.

I taped them each day to the arch in our livingroom for him to read whenever he chose (we're only to the 23rd so far).

I thanked him for working hard for us. taped a gift card in one to spend on something special, and had some more personal/intimate messages.

It was kind of fun to make these, and it might be a good tradition to start before any holiday or special event! It's a great way to intentionally bless your spouse and shower them with love.

Let me know how it worked for you, or what you did differently!

  1. Kristin, I'm visiting from the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I love the Advent calendar idea! [I already posted a longer comment but it seemed to disappear instead of posting.] I also appreciate the chance to follow your adventures on Pinterest, which I want to operate better :-).

    1. Thank you so much for reading! I hope you see some ideas you can use. There are so many things I have pinned that I haven't tried yet!
